First released in 2020, this song was the foutth single from the Pet Shop Boys album Hotspot. "I Don't Wanna" is about someone who doesn't want to go out partying, a homebody. The song's lyrics describe a "lonely boy" with "his head in the clouds" who doesn't really live life. Instead, he sits at home alone crying because he's so lonely, but whenever someone invites him out, he says no. In the last few lines of the song, he is freed of his loneliness when he accepts an invitation to go out with a friend.

On a very personal note, I identify with this song's central character. I have always been a homebody. Even as a kid, I always prefrred staying home by myself rather than going somewhere. Whenever I was around other kids, I was shy and quiet. This made me feel isolated and misunderstood. At home around my family, I wasn't shy or quiet, and I didn't feel isolated.
